Het paasvuur is een eeuwenoud voorjaarsgebruik dat de wederopstanding van de natuur in de lente viert. Op eerste en tweede Paasdag zijn voornamelijk in de streek Twente en in de Achterhoek veel paasvuren te zien. Ook de familie ter Kuile, in dit geval de Pietertak, ontsteekt het Paasvuur op de avond van Paaszondag.

Vanwege de strengere milieuvoorschriften mag je alleen snoeihout voor een Paasvuur gebruiken.
